It's a bitt offtopic for this blog but:
Blizzard officially announced Starcraft 2 at a the Invitational event in Korea overnight, no release date was given (IMHO: end of this year) . At least that puts and end to the speculation, thought I was almost certain the announcement was going to be another MMO.
South Korea was the place to go down in history as big-screen monitors onstage showed pictures and video previews of what is to come. I'm sure you could cut the excitement and tension with a knife as Blizzard Korea managing director Jungwan Han took the stage to deliver the opening statements.
You can check out the official expansive online experience at www.Starcraft2.com. It features trailers, screens, story details, and much more. For a bonus treat, check out Blizzard's official website for a special teaser image.
StarCraft II will include a unique single-player campaign, as well as fast-paced online play through an upgraded version of Blizzard’s renowned online gaming service, Battle.net®. In addition, the game will come with a powerful, full-featured map editor that will put the same tools used by Blizzard’s designers into the hands of players.
